83-year-old Elenora Mitchell was killed in a Brightline train crash on September 12, 2025 in Brevard County, FL. The train was carrying 188 passengers.
Elenora was going to Planet Fitness to workout. At an intersection, a Brightline train was approaching. As the guard rails came down, Elenora’s vehicle drove forward and hit the train head on.
The collision made a large explosion, caused a fire, and dragged the vehicle for several hundred yards. The impact also split the car in half and killed Elenora. None of the train passengers were injured.
It is likely that Elenora was having a medical issue.
